Pregnant Imperfection

Relational sculpture, 1992

Timber, string, clay, secret object

Dimensions: 150mm x 150mm x 150mm(H)

A secret imperfection concealed within an egg, trapped between layers of timber – loosened or compressed with the twist of a finger. An intimate and interactive sculpture; a barometer for personal feelings of openness (or otherwise) in the compression of the timber plates. A metaphor for our embodied existence.

Exhibited September 2012 at “PLAN.OPEN. Hidden / Exposed”, Mile End Art Pavilion, curated by Caroline Harris and Nimrod Vardi.
